This is a post about posts. Most people call these things posts, we call them columns for some reason. These particular ones are to support a large shade structure covering a playground at a Bangkok school. Special Japanese grade steel, tested and certified welds, and engineered according to the calculated loads from the fabric tension and wind. The 300 to 400 mm diameter columns are firmly bolted onto their own clusters of four piles which have been driven 9 metres into the ground. Engineered for safety and longevity, just how we like it!
