Check out a recent retractable roofing system we designed, fabricated and installed for the patio of a Phuket villa.
The patio of our client’s new villa features a patio overlooking the garden and swimming pool, but until now was unroofed. Outdoor dining and cooking times were restricted to later afternoons and evenings to escape the hot sun, and when it rained, the patio was not useable.
Our retractable roofing system provided the solution. Bright yellow outdoor woven acrylic fabric flutes can now be extended at will to provide much needed shade (and UV blocking), or total protection from rain. The flutes are designed to run rain water off into the adjacent garden.
A simple but effective manually operated system allows deployment, or retraction, of the roof in just a few seconds, thanks to our custom-designed marine grade stainless steel pulleys and yachting grade cord system.
Specialized aluminium extrusions, (marine grade epoxy paint finished), and European-made moving parts make up the moving parts of the roofing system and their supporting beams.
With this design and operating system we can cover custom-shaped areas up to 6 metres wide and almost any length, or even larger areas with multiple modules.
