Headstart International School is Phuket’s newest school campus, which just opened 6 months ago. The school provides a quality teaching and learning environment for Phuket’s international and culturally diverse community.
Shades has been involved with Headstart for many years as a supplier of both shade solutions and students! 3 of the Shades Team kids currently attend Headstart, Richie, our Operations Manager’s daughter Jasmine (Year 2) and Graeme, our Director’s kids Mickey (Year 9) & Taya (Year 7).
We were delighted to be asked to design, make and install shades for the new school campus. We designed and built the structures while the new campus was under construction during the 1st half of 2015. We then installed everything in the few weeks prior to the opening for the start of the new school year in August 2015.
We built and installed the big blue playground structure at the old Headstart campus, dismantled it and re-installed it at the new one.

This is an important project for Shades as we have been part of the Phuket community for almost 12 years. We immensely enjoy being involved in the local community – oriented projects where we can showcase our products to a wide audience of Phuket residents. Phuket’s sun can be tough on kids, which is why we are happy to help solving that problem. So happy in fact that we donated one of the shade structures to the school for added shade in the playground.
